Yakutia is a rich republic in the Siberian part of Russia, known for its abundant deposits of gold and diamonds. Approximately 13% of the world’s diamond production takes place there.
A legend tells that when God created the Earth, he sent an angel with a sack full of riches over Siberia. As the angel flew over Yakutia, his fingers became stiff in the cold, and he dropped everything. This is how the region became rich in mineral resources.
