KIROVSKIE II is a legendary-style automatic watch inspired by Soviet military watch development from the 1940s, combining historical construction concepts with modern mechanical refinement.
HISTORY
The First State Watch Factory in Moscow was founded in 1930 after the purchase of the Ansonia Clock Factory and Dueber Hampden Watch & Co., together with 21 former employees. The factory initially produced pocket watches, with early series made entirely in-house.
In 1935, the factory was renamed after Sergey Kirov, becoming known as “1 G.CH.Z Kirov”, and its watches carried his name.
According to legend, before World War II, the Red Army urgently required a wristwatch. The factory, which only produced pocket watches, was instructed to deliver a solution within three days. Engineers created a practical solution by attaching a robust bracelet holder to a pocket watch case, forming the first Soviet military wristwatch design.
The “Kirovskie II” is a modern limited reinterpretation created to mark the historical development and anniversary of this concept.
